Why Buying a Home is Like Dating
Doesn’t this place look perfect! Is it in the 500s? 400s? Try 300s…More than 1 set of buyers at the first open house said they were shocked at how much more they could get here, after looking at what they considered pricier places in the North Shore. This was their first trip just south of their target location (to Morton Grove!) Sometimes location can make a big difference, depending on your criteria.
I hear this sometimes from clients,”I’m not seeing what I like in my price range.” Sometimes expectations and reality don’t end up matching. A simple solution can be simply widening your net when it comes to their target location, as sometimes you can get more of what you’re looking for in an area or neighborhood you may not have considered before. My best advice when your looking – start with a wider range, see what you can get for your money and where, narrow criteria from there. You may be surprised with what you end up with! You can save yourself months, even years of frustration looking in the same area and the same kind of homes. It’s kinda like dating – shop around, cast a wide net, get focused on what you like & the best one will eventually show up:)
